The series uses material from the great Dune School trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J
Tale
Two Harkonnen sisters fight forces that threaten the future of humanity and establish the fictional sect known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are all about science fiction. Anderson. A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the sisterhood of Roszak evolved into the Bene Gesserit.
So here it goes
The event, with the use of the voice of Valya Harkonnen, is from one called ‘Mentets of Dune’. All three books are related to the development of the Brotherhood, Mentees, Navigators, and Suc Doctors.. The crazy cartoon cast of Animate: The New Normal (2020) is mentioned. I wanted to be brief and to the point, but I was forced to expand my thoughts.
The rest of the characters didn’t interest me
There was a time when the writers knew how to weave an explanation into the narrative without being forced and plot-driven. I get that it’s the first episode, but do they have to spell out everything in a way that’s not common knowledge? Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart), and Sarah-Sophie Busnina (Princess) give good performances. I feel like the show is in good hands.
I guess we’ll see how it evolves
They move the story along, but are forgettable. I had a hard time focusing on the first episode. It felt like part of an indivisible whole. I’m waiting for the full season to come out before I consume any more episodes.
They did a fantastic job with the visuals
The CGI is top notch, the costumes are perfect, and the tone is maintained and expanded by Villeneuve’s vision. The art department deserves credit for how beautifully it looks.
